(Lagos, Nigeria - December 1, 2020) - The Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) has unveiled its nominees for 2020. The list was announced by AMAA jury president, Steve Ayorinde, through a broadcast message shared on AMAA’s social media platforms on Monday, November 30, 2020.
Among the nominees is JANUARY 14TH, nominated for Best Diaspora Short Film, alongside Boxed directed by Wanjiru Njendu (USA), Egun directed by Yuri Costa (Brazil), and Brick by Brick directed by Tina Chapman DaCosta (USA).
Inspired by true event, JANUARY 14TH is about a young couple’s whose anniversary takes a bittersweet turn when a police officer pulls the husband over on a questionable traffic stop.
